Hi! I’m Mrs. Lakin
Teaching is an absolute passion of mine! I am so excited to work with you and your child! It’s going to be a year full of fun, learning, and lots of adventures and I can’t wait to see what the year has in store for us! I thought you might like to know a little bit about me.
I have lived in Hobbs pretty much me entire life. I went to Hobbs High School and graduated from New Mexico State University with a Bachelor’s degree in General Studies with a minor in Family and Child Science in 2013. From there, I decided to give teaching a try and fell in love with it and the kids so I went back to school and got my certification for my teaching license. I just recently passed my dossier to become a level II licensed teacher. I am the youngest of 2. My older brother lives in Canton, Ohio and has two beautiful daughters, Madison and Audrey.
This is my fifth year teaching Second grade at College Lane. I am also a high school coach for softball. This is my third year to coach “C” team softball. I absolutely love teaching Second grade! It is my mission to instill a love for learning in my students. I attempt to teach with a passion so that my students develop a desire to become life-long learners. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. It is so important to keep communication open between us and I would love to talk to you whenever you feel the need. I look forward to a great year together!
