Hello. I am Lesa Mallett.

I have taught Physical Education (PE) at College Lane since 2010. During my first years in Hobbs I split my time between College Lane, Broadmoor and Coronado. I was also the JV volleyball coach at HHS. I truly enjoy being the PE teacher at College Lane because I get to teach every student at school, kindergarten through fifth grade.  I have absolutely enjoyed my years at College Lane. It has been a blessing to watch the students grow and mature year after year throughout their elementary school years.  I enjoy sports of all kind and sharing my enthusiasm and knowledge with my students.
At a young age, growing up in Artesia, I played a variety of sports.  It was my involvement and enjoyment of playing sports that lead me to pursue a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education from the Eastern New Mexico University in Portales.
I also hold a Master of Education Degree from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. In addition, I hold an Associate of Arts and Associate of Science from New Mexico Junior College.

Before coming to Hobbs, I spent two years in Artesia teaching Elementary PE K-5, along with coaching JV girls’ volleyball. Prior to that, I taught Elementary PE K-5 for three years in Arrey in the Truth or Consequences (TorC) District. While at TorC, I was the 7th and 8th grades girls’ volleyball coach.

Personal interest: I enjoy a good adventure whether it be sporting events, concerts, Broadway shows, Dancing with Stars tours, museums, or relaxing in the outdoors camping/fishing trips. Along with my interest in sports, I also enjoy history.  I have visited numerous Presidential Libraries and Museums, along with historic sites and history museums. My truest passion on my bucket list is to visit all the MLB (Major League Baseball) ballparks. There are 30 ballparks and I have visited 26.
